The L40 Ultra Gen 2 was built around a straightforward idea: maintaining a robot vacuum should not itself feel like maintenance. The PowerDock station takes on the post-cleaning work — emptying the bin, washing and drying the mop pads, refilling the water tank — so the robot is ready for its next run without you needing to step in. Up to 100 days can pass before the dust bag needs replacing.
At its core, this is a combined vacuum and mop that handles both tasks in a single pass. The DuoScrub spinning mop pads handle light wet cleaning while the main brush and 25,000Pa suction system work through dry debris simultaneously. When the robot detects a rug or carpet, it lifts the mop pads to avoid saturating the fibers — a practical safeguard in homes that mix hard floors and area rugs.
Edge cleaning gets meaningful attention here. The side brush physically extends outward, and the MopExtend mop swings past the robot’s body by up to 1.57 inches to reach along baseboards and into corners — addressing the dirty strip that many round robots leave behind near walls.
The DreameHome app supports detailed zone management, multi-floor maps, per-room preferences, and scheduling. Voice commands work through Alexa, Google Home, and Siri. Off-peak charging lets you schedule the dock to recharge during lower-rate electricity hours.
